Poetry Sound+Poetry Moderation Workshop

parallelgesellschaft is an intersectional, post-German artists’ collective and literary performance ensemble. Since 2017, we have been working at the intersection of text, performance, curatorial practice, and political-poetic intervention.

parallelgesellschaft consists of: Miedya Mahmod, Armeghan Taheri, Temye Tesfu, Tanasgol Sabbagh, Jacinta Nandi, Thi Le Thanh Ho, Ralph Tharayil, Anujah Fernando, and Ken Yamamoto.

We work as independent artists of color—in theaters, at festivals, in museums, galleries, and discursive spaces. We write, curate, moderate, perform, lead workshops, and develop formats that bring artistic practice and political perspective into conversation.

Since 2017, we have been organizing parallelgesellschaft – die Show in Berlin-Neukölln, a format that places artistic practice and political discourse side by side, thinks them together, and relates them to one another.

We want to make art and make it possible—self-determined, resistant, collective.
