Poetry Sound+Poetry Moderation Workshop

I approach my workshops not as mere training in writing technique, but as a practice of thinking, speaking, and finding one’s own position. Each workshop begins with the participants’ experiences, questions, and perspectives. In this sense, I understand writing as a dialogic process and as a practice of empowerment.

In these workshops, participants develop their own texts and explore different approaches to poetry and performance. Poetry slam and spoken word can serve as one possible entry point: an accessible way into text, voice, and public expression. The aim is not to arrive at right answers or follow prescribed forms, but to explore language together: How do texts come into being? Which voices are heard? Which experiences can be put into words — and which cannot?

My approach is dialogic and process-based. Short writing prompts, shared reading, feedback rounds, and performative exercises are woven together. Participants work individually and collectively, give feedback, revise their texts, and reflect on their choices. I do not see myself simply as an instructor, but as part of a shared process of writing and learning.

Regardless of educational level, cultural background, or prior experience, it becomes clear again and again how quickly participants begin to write when they are taken seriously. The workshops create a space in which language can be experienced as a means of empowerment — as a way to make one’s own experiences visible and to relate to the world.

The focus is on active participation. Here, writing means trying things out, failing, starting again, becoming louder, becoming quieter, developing a voice, and having fun. Workshops are tailored to age, group size, timeframe, and thematic focus.
